Reiki Symbols
Hand Drawn Symbols
Symbols represent a concept, an idea in a simplified form as the essence of something else. In the ancient healing and meditation traditions symbols have been used for different purposes. An example of a symbol that creates positive or negative emotions is the Swastika shown on the pottery jar in the photo. The swastika's Indian name comes the Sanskrit word svasti, meaning good fortune, luck and wellbeing.
In Hinduism, the right-hand (clockwise) swastika is a symbol of the sun and the god Vishnu, while the left-hand (counter-clockwise) swastika represents Kali and magic. The Buddhist swastika is almost always clockwise, while the swastika adopted by the Nazis (many of whom had occult interests) is counter-clockwise.

The Swastika Symbol
The Swastika in the Buddhist tradition represent the four noble truths, the 8 fold path (eight arms extending from the central point of rotation. The rotation itself signifies the cycle of birth and rebirth or Samsara. The two arms that intersect at the centre represent the mind-body phenomena (nama-rupa) that all ultimate realities can be classed into. As you can see one symbol can provide a whole wealth of information.
The Swastika with four dots which adds up all parts to 12 represent the 12 links of the dependent origination, the most profound doctrine in Buddhist philosophy explaining the law of cause and effect and its function in our daily life.

On the other hand if the symbol the Swastika depicted below used by the Nazi Germany brings to mind negative emotions of war, force, and brutality.
The purpose of this is to show the importance of a form or shape and its association with other information of what it represents can create in our mind and body a positive or negative response. In the ancient Buddhist healing and meditation traditions monks advanced in their meditative abilities were able to construct various symbols and yantras from combining mantric characters or alphabets in their minds based on their individual energetics.
The unique combination or complex pattern appearing in the mind’s eye of the meditator has the collective energies of the individual characters. This type of symbol or yantra has a strong resonance with the higher energy fields and spiritual concepts the mantra carried as its meaning. With this idea as the foundation I have created a unique healing method using the letters of one’s name, numbers of the birth date and time to create in a meditative state a special name symbol.

The above is an example of one name symbol embedded and empowered by a Reiki symbol. This was specially drawn for a Reiki Jin Kei Do master/teacher as a healing tool to use. It has her first name drawn after meditating on the letters and the form they took while investigating their energies and how they combined to enhance the energy of the name and the name bearer. Since she is a Reiki master the symbol appropriate for her at this time came to me in the meditation and it was integrated into the name symbol.
The name symbols are available for anyone. All one needs to do is provide their full name, date of birth and time of birth if available. Using the numbers representing the letters of the alphabet see the combination of the name numbers i.e. A=1, B=2…date of birth number and the time of birth number we can generate a harmonious energy field around us.
Having meditated on the individual letters and numbers with an intention set before the session to experience the true healing potential of the name and numbers, the letters form a pattern with the numbers appearing in the mental screen. This pattern is drawn and through further meditation improved in its form to induce a healing effect on the person using it.
Since the drawing is done while I am in a light meditative state with the intention to impart Reiki and create a healing vibration in the symbol. These symbols can be used by anyone and Reiki training isn’t a pre-requisite.
Name Symbols For Reiki Jin Kei Do II Level (Masters)
Reiki II practitioners when name symbols are drawn will appreciate more the symbols appearing within the drawing. Depending on the individual meditating instructions are provided. For Reiki Jin Kei Do Masters who wish to get their name symbols drawn can request a Reiki symbol to b included and the energy imprinted on to the name symbol.
It is important to clarify that these name symbols have nothing to do with Reiki Jin Kei Do teachings. This is a personal endeavour for me and a result of my own meditation and experimentation with alphabet and numbers and their inherent energy for use in creating a positive harmonious field. These symbols can be used to meditate on to induce a harmonious energy state. Since the letters and numbers are very personal and constantly involved with one’s energy they have a significant impact if used with proper care and attention.
